Peake's has a huge 150 ton travelift to pull boats out of the water, but the 31 foot wide lift is so big they have a transporter to move boats around the very crowded yard.

After spending over three weeks in Texas visiting friends and family (and a nasty visitor called Hurricane Ike), we returned to Trinidad to have some work done on Kiva's "basement" (bottom job and repairing the prop and rudder). Hopefully, we will be back in the water in two weeks after all the work is done. We still have a few more weeks of projects to finish yet we are still looking to leave Trinidad by the middle of November.

Laventille Steelband Festival

Trinidad as some of the greatest steelbands in the Caribbean and they play on a regular basis at festivals and competition. We went to hear five different bands in the Laventlille area near Port of Spain - enjoy the video of the Trinidad All Stars pan band.
